The role of Area Manager - Housing will include:
1. Line management of a team of Housing Officers, you will liaise daily with your team to provide oversight and assist with any queries whilst ensuring a high level of performance and productivity
2. Ensuring anti-social behaviour, compliance checks and general estate management are dealt with in line with relevant policies and procedures
3. Contributing, along with other Area Managers, to the management of the South West housing portfolio
4. Promoting a performance culture to achieve KPIs and improve Tenant Satisfaction Measures, collaborating with other internal teams to maximise outcomes
5. Carrying out performance management meetings with the team and on an individual level
6. Effectively managing complaints
7. Assisting, supporting and advising members of the team in complex matters, ensuring the required training is provided
8. Managing and approving invoices and contributing to budget setting
9. Supporting the team with service charges and queries
10. Attending court as required to support officers in complex legal cases
11. Contributing to meetings with stakeholders, internal and external, either face to face or via teams
12. Leading by example, living the values of the organisation, ensuring staff and customers feel safe respected and proud
Skills and experiences:
13. A relevant qualification in housing management and / or be working towards a qualification
14. Level 4 or 5 or Diploma in Housing
15. Knowledge of relevant housing legislation and regulatory frameworks
16. An excellent understanding of tenancy management particularly successions, mutual exchange and tenancy changes
17. An understanding of how to apply principles of case work to effectively manage anti-social behaviour
18. An understanding of risk management and how this applies to housing management
19. Working knowledge of Microsoft packages including Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams
20. Travel is a requirement of the role, therefore a full valid driving licence is essential with access to a vehicle insured for business purposes

31. Role salary is £40,334 (rising to £42,457 after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance)
