As a Skilled CNC Operator, you will be an integral part of our fully integrated Computer Aided Manufacturing facility, where innovation meets precision.
Your Role
In this exciting position, you will utilize state-of-the-art CNC machining centers for turning, milling, and grinding operations. Your expertise will help us produce customized designs from a variety of materials, including:
* Steel grades
* Copper
* Brass
* Aluminium
* Bronze
Our facility boasts a broad range of multi-axis machine tools, lathes, mills, and associated equipment, allowing you to work on a high-mix of customized fluid-film bearings, seals, and isolators for turbo and industrial machinery.
What You Will Bring
We are looking for candidates who have:
* A time-served apprenticeship in a machining discipline or SVQ/NVQ level 3 or HNC in Mechanical Engineering
* A minimum of 5 years’ experience operating CNC machine tools in a lean-manufacturing environment
* Established milling experience with multi-axis machine tools, ideally Correa and/or Doosan
* Experience with machine control systems such as Fanuc, Mazak, Heidenhain, or Haas
* The ability to hold tight machining tolerances of less than .0025mm
* Familiarity with precision inspection equipment, including micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and bore gauges
* Experience in power generation, oil & gas, aerospace, or similar environments is a plus
Your Responsibilities
As a Skilled CNC Operator, you will:
* Read process sheets, blueprints, and sketches to determine machining requirements
* Locate and download programs from a DNC storage system
* Interpret work instructions and select proper tooling for operations
* Calculate feeds and speeds for various materials
* Read, understand, edit, or write complete programs
* Perform quality inspections and apply Lean Manufacturing principles to improve productivity
* Visually inspect final components and prepare them for shipment
* Use precision measuring instruments for quality verification
Working Conditions
We offer a 37-hour working week, Monday to Friday, with permanent employment contracts. You can choose between:
* £44,919.62 for a weekly rotating shift pattern of early (6am) and backshifts (2pm)
* £52,452.37 for working on the night shift
These rates include a shift premium, and we also provide:
