Job Description We are excited to welcome an enthusiastic Transport Compliance Supervisor to our team. This role is pivotal in ensuring our transport operations run smoothly and efficiently. You will be responsible for assisting the depot operates within the O License and ensure the processes and policies are followed correctly. Key Responsibilities: Lead compliance operations across four high-volume contracts, ensuring adherence to operator licence requirements for a fleet of approximately 65 vehicles and over 80 drivers. Act as the primary liaison between operational teams and drivers, championing the implementation and continuous improvement of defect reporting and rectification processes. Ensure depot operations remain fully compliant with all regulatory and licensing obligations, proactively identifying and mitigating risks. Oversee the scheduling and coordination of critical vehicle maintenance activities, including services, tank testing, LOLER, PUWER inspections, and MOTs. Conduct in-depth reviews of inspection and brake test documentation, ensuring full compliance and timely integration into internal compliance systems. Leverage advanced internal platforms such as Mandata, TruTac, People System, and Web Services to drive operational efficiency and data accuracy. Develop, analyse, and present KPI and contract performance reports to senior stakeholders, supporting strategic decision-making. Manage the resolution of compliance and Health & Safety issues logged via customer systems, ensuring timely feedback and corrective action across teams. Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance compliance, safety, and operational performance. Conduct strategic gate checks across multiple South West sites, ensuring consistent standards and regulatory alignment. Provide leadership in driver engagement, including structured debriefs and performance reviews on a daily and weekly basis. Ensure robust vehicle check and defect reporting processes are embedded through the Vehicle Check App and associated systems. Maintain strong customer relationships, acting as a key point of contact for service delivery and issue resolution. Oversee all driver licence checks, ensuring full compliance with legal and internal standards. Lead on driver and vehicle compliance, including managing infringement debriefs and corrective actions. Provide strategic cover and support for vehicle planning and resource allocation. Ensure full adherence to business policies, procedures, and compliance frameworks. Collaborate closely with the Transport Manager to align operational delivery with customer expectations and contractual obligations. Required Experience: Experience in a transport compliance or similar regulatory role Comprehensive knowledge of transport legislation including operator licensing, Working Time Directive (WTD), Drivers' Hours, and Health & Safety regulations. Demonstrated ability to lead and engage drivers on compliance and safety standards through structured reviews, debriefs, and performance coaching. Strong organisational abilities, capable of prioritising multiple deadlines in a dynamic transport environment. Proven experience in managing vehicle maintenance compliance (e.g. LOLER, PUWER, MOT, brake testing) and maintaining accurate service records. Experience producing and analysing reports and KPIs for internal and external stakeholders. Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to build trust and rapport with diverse teams. Full UK driving licence required Why Join Gregory Distribution Ltd?
