Overview
As a Bailiff in HM Courts & Tribunals Service, you will visit people’s homes and businesses to enforce court orders and help resolve disputes with empathy and professionalism.
Responsibilities
* Communicate clearly with court users, explain the purpose of visits and explore available options.
* Assess circumstances swiftly and adapt plans, managing workload and handling short‑notice changes.
* Demonstrate empathy, non‑judgment and respect for all customers.
* Maintain accurate records and submit required documentation using the courts case‑management system.
* Use your own vehicle or a lease car provided after probation, ensuring a full UK driving licence.
* Carry out duties safely, receiving full PPE and safety training.
Qualifications
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Commitment to providing a brilliant customer service.
* Ability to handle difficult conversations calmly and confidently.
* Passion for supporting and helping people.
* Proficiency with technology, including email and court systems.
Essential Requirements
* Full UK driving licence and ability to use your own car or a lease car after probation.
* Statutory legal right to live and work in the United Kingdom.
* Comfortable using IT and completing training on court case‑management systems.
* Commitment to work in a hybrid arrangement, with at least 60 % of time in office.
