About the Role
We are currently seeking a highly organised and technically skilled Fleet and Maintenance Officer to join our growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong HGV technical knowledge and a background in fleet compliance or vehicle rental.
You’ll be working closely with the Senior Fleet and Maintenance Officer to manage vehicle and equipment compliance, servicing schedules, supplier relationships, and breakdown response — ensuring the fleet operates efficiently, safely, and within all legal regulations.
Key Responsibilities

Plan and manage all scheduled legal and compliance events (PMIs, MOTs, LOLERs, brake tests, inspections, etc.)

Manage breakdowns, liaise with suppliers, and ensure prompt resolution
*
Ensure all systems are accurately updated with compliance data
*
Authorise repairs within limits and monitor costs
*
Build strong working relationships with internal teams, suppliers, and customers
*
Ensure documents and compliance records are processed and stored correctly
*
Assist in supplier management and monitor service level agreements
*
Provide excellent customer service and resolve escalations effectively
About You
*
Strong HGV technical knowledge is essential
*
Experience in a fleet, maintenance, or vehicle rental environment
*
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
*
Strong communicator with the ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure
*
Commercially aware with a problem-solving mindset
*
Proficient in using internal systems and confident handling compliance data
*
Self-motivated and able to work independently

Previous experience in a rental or fleet operations role
*
Understanding of DVSA and operator license regulations
