Description
Acting as a senior strategic advisor, you will collaborate with operational leaders and partner with stakeholders at C-suite level to challenge traditional thinking, stimulate debate, and unlock sustainable value creation. You will also act as a cross-functional innovation lead, strengthening customer relationships and positively shifting market perceptions.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and mentor high-performing teams across strategy and innovation (3-8 direct reports)
* Drive commercial innovation across the business using creative, disruptive, and future-focused thinking
* Manage major strategic projects and ensure alignment with the wider commercial strategy
* Build trusted partnerships with customers and senior leaders
* Identify commercial and environmental innovation opportunities, creating new value propositions
* Support Net Zero and decarbonisation initiatives for both the organisation and customers
* Develop sustainability-led commercial offerings
* Collaborate with academic and research partners to advance insight and capability
* Champion our organisational values and mission across the industry
Profile
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
* Experienced leader within the waste, environmental, or related sectors
* Proven track record managing cross-functional, high-performing teams
* Strong strategic thinker with the ability to embed and execute long-term plans
* Influential communicator with experience engaging senior leadership
* Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously
* High commercial acumen and the ability to work autonomously
* Excellent analytical skills and long-term strategic insight
* Strong understanding of ecological transformation
* IOSH Managing Safely certification
* Level 5 Leadership & Management qualification or equivalent experience
* Relevant degree
* Knowledge of PRINCE2 or similar project management methodologies
* Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma or similar process improvement methods
