Job Overview
These newly created Specialist Doctor posts are part of the Medical Workforce productivity programme. The role focuses on direct clinical care in dermatology, meeting service delivery and improvement requirements, while offering opportunities for management, leadership, teaching, research and service development.
Main Duties
* Manage the full range of dermatology presentations and provide expert decision‑making for patients.
* Deliver direct clinical care autonomously within agreed competencies.
* Deliver teaching and training to other staff and lead multidisciplinary teams where appropriate.
* Actively engage in continuing professional development (CPD) activities.
* Work closely with senior medical colleagues across district general hospitals and collaborate with clinicians within and beyond the UHB.
* Be managerially responsible to the Clinical Director and professionally responsible to the Medical Director.
* Support and adapt to the information systems used across different clinical areas.
Qualifications and Eligibility
* Full GMC registration with licence to practise.
Knowledge and Experience
* Broad experience of dermatology conditions.
* Strong clinical knowledge, acumen and judgement.
Skills and Abilities
* Able to recognise and seek help for problems.
* Honesty, reliability and punctuality.
