We are entrusted with developing innovative solutions to meet evolving needs, empowering staff and partner churches to harness the potential of technology. We use Salesforce as a platform for key systems, including debt solutions, HR, donor, volunteer, and partnership management. We are trusted to deliver adaptable solutions and support our users in navigating a rapidly evolving technological landscape. Purpose: As a Salesforce Solution Architect, you will shape the strategic direction and technical implementation of our Salesforce platform, with a strong focus on Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud. You will translate strategic objectives and complex business requirements into robust, scalable, and secure technical designs. You will collaborate with: Product Managers to support prioritisation Business Analysts to refine and understand requirements Salesforce Developers for technical implementation Salesforce Administrators to ensure optimal configuration and maintenance Your work will support mission-critical processes across fundraising, programme's, volunteer management, and engagement. Through this, we enable our staff and partner churches to serve our clients, supporters, staff members and volunteers better and help deliver our vision to see the UK church serving and including those most in need. Role Accountabilities: Lead the design and architecture of Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud solutions aligned with business goals and best practices. Support prioritisation with Product Managers via estimation and high-level design. Work closely with Business Analysts to translate business needs into detailed technical specifications and blueprints. Provide leadership and guidance to Developers and ensure solutions meet architectural, security, and performance standards. Advise Salesforce Administrators on declarative configurations and strategic adoption of new features. Review and improve existing Salesforce implementations. Define and enforce development standards and governance. Oversee data migration strategies and ensure data integrity. Serve as the subject matter expert on Nonprofit Cloud features and updates. Create technical documentation and knowledge sharing resources. Stay informed on Salesforce trends and contribute to strategy discussions. Mentor Developers and Administrators to promote technical excellence. Provide early-stage technical consultation for new initiatives. Escalate significant risks or issues to leadership. Key Outputs & Measures of Success: Architectural designs delivered on time, to scope, with minimal rework. Positive feedback from Product Managers, Analysts, Developers, and Admins. Successful delivery of secure and scalable solutions. Contribution to development standards and release processes. Identification and mitigation of risks and technical debt. Active participation in training, mentoring, and team growth. Culture: Embrace and embody the organisation’s cultural values and mission. Demonstrate a sincere passion for the organisation’s purpose and work. Willingness to engage in prayer and faith-based practices, including worship and staff events. Other Responsibilities: Being willing to pray with staff and fully engaged with our Christ-centered culture. Encouraging friends, family and other contacts to support the charity through the Life Changer program, and other fundraising initiatives. Attendance at annual staff conferences. Completing all compulsory training within given timescales. This role falls within the scope of the FCA’s conduct rules, and you will be provided with training as to how these apply to the role. It is your responsibility to ensure that you follow these conduct rules. Person Specification Education: Degree-level qualification or equivalent vocational training. Experience: Essential: 3 years as a Salesforce Solution Architect or similar role. Strong experience with Salesforce in a nonprofit context. Proficiency with Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, and integrations. Experience in both declarative and programmatic Salesforce capabilities. Strong grasp of Salesforce integration tools and ETL processes. Demonstrated collaboration with Product Managers and Analysts. Technical leadership and mentoring experience. Agile delivery experience. Charity/nonprofit sector experience. Desirable: Salesforce Certified Application or System Architect. Salesforce Certified Nonprofit Cloud Consultant. Experience with Tableau CRM/Einstein Analytics. Familiarity with other nonprofit technologies. Experience with tools like Gearset or Copado. Skills & Abilities: Clear communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills. Ability to manage and lead technical projects independently. Passion for continuous learning and technical mentorship. Effective time management and prioritisation in fast-paced environments. Christian Commitment: The successful candidate must align with the organisation’s Christian ethos, core values, and Statement of Faith. Must actively participate in spiritual practices and team prayer, reflecting personal faith.
