CNC Machinist - Up to £20 per hour LTD - Inside IR35
Lutterworth, Leicestershire | 12 months Contract
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled CNC Machinist to join an advanced UK prototyping and product development team. You will play a key role in producing one-off and small-batch prototype components that support the development of new engineering products.
The Role
Working alongside engineers and technicians, you’ll be responsible for setting, programming and operating CNC vertical machining centres, as well as using a range of conventional machines. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who takes pride in precision, craftsmanship and high-quality output.
Key Responsibilities
Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
Set, program and operate CNC VMC machines
Use conventional lathes, mills and cutting machinery
Produce components to tight tolerances and strict quality standards
Monitor machine performance, tooling condition and material usage
Conduct routine machine maintenance and support 5S practices
Maintain accurate job and material records
Work safely and proactively within a small, skilled team
Requirements
BTEC or equivalent in engineering
Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent hands-on experience
Proven VMC programming, setting and operating ability
Competent with measuring instruments, tooling and fixtures
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
Experience with Mastercam (Preffered)
