Overview
We are seeking self-motivated and experienced fabricators to fabricate a range of pipe arrangements to support our team of skilled welders across several of our sites on dayshift in Scarva. As a fabricator and\ /or welder, the successful candidates will be on site each day within the fabrication / welding facility in either Scarva 1 or Scarva 2, fabricating / welding pipe arrangements from our shop drawings. The ability to produce some or all types of welds, i.e. TIG / MIG would be required. We also offer opportunities to develop skills in numerous welding disciplines and in-house welding procedures.
Our client can offer you shifts across 2 locations in Scarva:
* Hours: Mon-Thurs 7am-5pm and Fri 7am - 4:30pm
* Hours: Mon-Thurs 7am-4.30pm, Fri 7am-1.30pm
* Hours: Mon-Thurs 16:45pm - 03:45am (Backshift)
Salary: Competitive depending on experience
Key Responsibilities
* To operate MIG/TIG or MMA welding equipment
* To read/interpret drawings
* Fabricate pipe sets for various pipe diameters (typically carbon steel & stainless steel pipe ranging from 65mm - 500mm) from shop drawings
* Use of metal cutting and grinding equipment
* Responsible for highlighting any faults or damage to the machine and its tooling
* Clean tools, equipment, and work areas
* Maintain a safe working environment
* Any other duties deemed necessary by Management
Essential Criteria
* Previous experience as a Fabricator or Welder, with pipe fabrication experience preferred
* Ability to interpret welding procedure requirements
* Able to use shop floor hand tools like grinders, handheld plasmas, etc.
* Confident in understanding shop fabrication and assembly drawings
Desired Criteria
* Previous experience as a pipe fabricator, producing a wide range of pipe arrangements with TIG/MAG and ability to use MMA
* Experience within heavy fabrication, architectural steelwork or stainless steel / carbon welding environments
