About the Role
Vision for Education is seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to work within welcoming and inclusive schools across Chelmsford.
This rewarding role involves supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them to access learning, build confidence, and achieve their full potential. You will work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and support staff to provide tailored support both on a 1:1 basis and within small groups. Typical needs may include Autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and SEMH needs.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SENSupport pupils' learning, emotional wellbeing, and classroom engagementAssist teachers in delivering differentiated learning activitiesEncourage positive behaviour and social developmentHelp pupils develop confidence, independence, and communication skillsWork collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, parents, and external professionals to support pupil progressRequirements
The ideal SEN Teaching Assistant will have:
Experience supporting children or young people with additional needsA patient, nurturing, and adaptable approachStrong communication and teamwork skillsA genuine passion for supporting children with SENThe ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staffExperience gained in schools, care settings, youth work, residential support, or community settings is welcomed.
