Job summary
An excitingopportunity has arisen for an experienced Physiotherapist with an excellentgrounding in exercise therapy, a passion for working in Mental Health servicesand interest the provision of physiotherapy for all.
The Physiotherapistwould primarily work with the inpatient MDT in Redditch, Bromsgrove andWorcester with an occasional requirement to support the Hereford team for anyurgent assessments.
The post involves working creatively toprovide individual physiotherapy and promote the use of physical exercise tofacilitate mental health recovery. Previous experience in mental health is desirable.
Main duties of the job
The Role includes undertaking physiotherapeuticassessments and treatment of patients who have been admitted to hospital due totheir mental health needs and they are identified to have additional physicalhealth issues which may have a highly complex presentation.
The physiotherapist will assess to determineclinical diagnosis and physiotherapy and physical exercise interventionsneeded, and will maintain patient MDT recordsfollowing this
The post holder will need to work flexibly and inconjunction with the therapies team to plan, deliver and evaluate patients inpartnership with the wider MDT.
There will be an expectation for the Physiotherapistto assist the Band 6 Occupational Therapists to lead the planning, delivery andevaluation of all elements of the rehabilitation programme including use of gymequipment, ward based exercise programmes, groups, accessing the community andhome assessment visits.
The Physiotherapist will work autonomously,accepting responsibility for a caseload of patients with complex mental healthand physical health needs across the in patient mental health wards withinWorcestershire.
