This role offers an excellent opportunity for a registered Pharmacy Technician eager to broaden their experience and enhance their expertise in quality improvement, patient safety, and governance.
The successful candidate will join a proactive team focused on enhancing the safe and effective use of medicines across the organisation to support high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities
 * Provide technical support to wards and departments, overseeing drug storage and stock management.
 * Contribute to safety meetings and reports, with a strong focus on patient safety and effective medicines management.
 * Prepare, conduct, and facilitate audits, developing supportive action plans that promote continuous improvement in line with Royal Pharmaceutical Society standards.
 * Collaborate with the Medicines Governance and Safety Team to maintain a robust quality management system, including managing Q‑Pulse accounts, setting up new users, and distributing controlled documents.
 * Support safe drug storage and stock management, and assist with the maintenance and governance of Patient Group Directions (PGDs).
 * Support the Trust priority for medicine safety, initially focusing on time‑critical medications.
 * Provide support in the absence of senior team members, including preparing meeting papers and acting as secretariat when required.
 * Ensure accurate documentation, support effective discharge planning, and take and update drug histories.
 * Counsel patients on their medicines and support the resolution of medicine‑related queries or concerns.
 * Accurately dispense medicines, manage workload effectively, support the training and induction of new staff members, and work towards gaining an accuracy checking qualification if not already achieved.
 * Uphold good pharmaceutical practice, ensuring regulatory compliance, and engaging in continuous professional development.
 * Contribute to continuous improvement projects that enhance patient safety and support high pharmacy service standards.
