Overview

As a Logistics Officer you will be responsible for supporting the department with the receipt of deliveries into the Central Stores area for all locations within Freeman Hospital. This includes unloading delivery vehicles, opening and checking deliveries, receipting into the Oracle system and delivering to end users across the Trust. The role involves liaising with wards and departments via email and telephone and working in a busy workload environment. The position combines IT and manual duties to fulfill department goals and serve Trust service members.


Key responsibilities

* Drive a van to service the Day Treatment Centre and the Royal Victoria Infirmary stores.
* Unload delivery vehicles and decant/deliver goods to all wards and departments.
* Plan and separate deliveries into various distribution routes daily.
* Check, verify and receipted orders into the Oracle system.
* Answer telephones and handle queries related to deliveries.
* Input data and record daily analytical data and statistics.
* Generate IT-based customer returns documentation.
* Scan and file supplier delivery documentation, converting paper to digital format.
* Work as part of a team, prioritise daily workload, and use initiative.
* Maintain a safe and tidy stores environment for yourself and colleagues.
* Weigh and lift items as required; physical and mental demands are acknowledged.
* Good keyboard, numerical and manual lifting skills are required; a valid driving licence is necessary.

* Interview Date: 28th and 29th October 2025
* Hours: 37 Hours 30 Minutes per week
