Pre-Fabrication Detailing Lead – London/Coventry
Our client is a large and well-established MEP Sub-Contractor operating across the UK, Ireland & Europe. They undertake major Mechanical & Electrical Packages on behalf of Tier:1 main contractors involved in ‘technology’ schemes including Data Centres, Pharmaceutical, Semi-Conductor plants and heavy industrial projects.
Due to continued growth in the region of their Modular division, our client is now seeking an experienced Pre-Fabrication Detailing Lead to join their team working on Modular construction projects in Coventry.
Responsibilities
* Lead Prefabrication Detailing Strategy Across Major Construction Projects
Provide senior technical leadership for the development of detailed 3D MEP models and fabrication drawings supporting off-site prefabricated modules, ensuring designs align with project specifications, installation strategies, equipment constraints and final site conditions.
* Oversee Design Interrogation & Prefabrication Optimisation
Review project designs, P&IDs and technical documentation to identify opportunities for prefabrication, develop efficient plantroom layouts and service routing strategies, and ensure modules are optimised for installation efficiency and construction sequencing.
* Manage Prefabrication Detailing Team & Resource Planning
Lead and mentor a team of BIM coordinators and detailers, allocating resources across multiple projects, managing workload peaks and coordinating with third-party detailing partners to ensure deliverables are produced in line with programme requirements.
* Develop Prefabrication Standards, Processes & Digital Content
Establish and maintain company standards, templates and Standard Methods & Procedures (SMPs) for prefabrication detailing, manage the 3D content library in line with approved technical submittals, and incorporate lessons learned from projects to continuously improve delivery quality.
* Drive Programme Delivery, Reporting & Quality Assurance
Oversee the prefabrication detailing programme in line with the contract schedule, produce look-ahead programmes and progress reports, coordinate RFIs with design teams, ensure structural approvals are obtained where required, and maintain quality control through inspections, documentation management and technical sign-off processes.
Requirements
Degree or Trade qualified in a Mechanical / Building Services Engineering or related HVAC Discipline
Must have 8+ years’ experience in a similar role
Must be based within commutable distance of London or Coventry
