About Us

UK Electric Cable Systems is a well-established electrical wholesaler with over 40 years of experience supplying hazardous area solutions, primarily to the petrochemical and process industries. We specialise in ATEX and IECEx certified products, offering expert support on explosion-protected equipment and installations.

In addition to our strong presence in petrochemical sectors, we also support a wide range of industries including renewables, rail, pharmaceutical, data centres, and nuclear—providing high-quality, compliant electrical solutions across critical infrastructure projects. The Role

We are looking for a motivated and technically minded Technical Sales Consultant / Advisor to join our Warrington office. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop a career in technical sales within a specialist and growing sector.

The role will involve supporting customers with product enquiries, preparing quotations, and providing technical guidance on a range of hazardous area and electrical products. Full practical sales and product training will be provided, including exposure to ATEX principles and hazardous area applications.


Key Responsibilities

* Respond to customer enquiries via phone and email
* Prepare and follow up quotations
* Provide technical advice and product recommendations, including hazardous area (ATEX) solutions
* Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and suppliers
* Process orders and manage them through to completion
* Liaise with manufacturers and internal teams to ensure accurate and timely delivery
* Support the wider sales team in achieving targets and business growth
* Keep up to date with product knowledge, industry standards, and compliance requirements


Working Hours & Benefits

* Monday to Thursday: 8:00am – 5:00pm
* Friday: 8:00am – 3:00pm
* 45-minute lunch break
* 25 days holiday per year (pro rata) plus statutory holidays
* Full training and ongoing development provided


About You

* Previous sales experience is preferred, ideally within an electrical wholesaler or trade counter environment
* Experience or interest in hazardous area / ATEX products would be advantageous
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Good level of IT literacy
* Numerate with good attention to detail
* Flexible, proactive, and willing to learn
* Able to work both independently and as part of a team
* Full UK driving licence is beneficial but not essential


Additional Requirements

* Willingness to travel occasionally within the UK and Europe for manufacturer product training
