The Specialist Behaviour Team (SBT) provides enhanced support to adults with a learning disability who display significant behaviours that challenge through locally based multidisciplinary care. The post holder is responsible for the day-to-day operational management of the Behaviour Specialist and Assistant Behaviour Specialist staff members of
the Team, to ensure that the Team and Service Group delivers on its key targets & priorities in a safe, sustainable, and effective environment.

Main duties of the job

The post holder is required to work collaboratively with the Clinical Lead Psychologist, other SBT Psychologists and team members and the Directorate Manager for the delivery of quality specialist Learning Disability Services.
This post delivers 3 days per week of operational management input to the SBT whilst also holding a small clinical caseload appropriate to 2 days of capacity, which will be delivered in a local area appropriate to the service need.
The post holder is central to creating and modelling a values-based culture for LD services and managing delivery of person-centred services in a seamless way.

Essential Qualifications & Knowledge

1. Health professional qualification/Social work qualification (degree level)
2. Recognised management qualification i.e. ISM
3. Professional knowledge acquired through degree supplemented by post graduate diploma specialist training, experience, short courses plus further specialist training to masters equivalent level.
