DESIGN TECHNOLOGY TECHNICIAN – EMSWORTH (SECONDARY)
Prospero Teaching is seeking a reliable, organised, and proactive Design Technology Technician to support a secondary school in Emsworth from 13th April 2026 until the end of the academic year in July (excluding half term).
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a creative and supportive DT department, ensuring lessons run smoothly by preparing materials, maintaining machinery, and helping create a safe, engaging learning environment for students. The school offers a welcoming team, clear guidance, and a highly collaborative atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities
1. Preparing, organising, and maintaining materials and resources for DT lessons
2. Supporting practical sessions across Resistant Materials, Product Design, and related DT subjects
3. Ensuring machinery, tools, and equipment are safely set up, maintained, and stored
4. Assisting with demonstrations and supporting students during practical tasks
5. Monitoring workshop safety and promoting safe working practices
6. Maintaining an organised prep area
7. Working closely with teaching staff to ensure lessons are well‑resourced and efficient
Contract Details
8. Location: Emsworth
9. Position: Design Technology Technician
10. Start Date: 13/04/2026
11. Contract Type: Part‑time (2-3 full days per week or 5 mornings per week)
12. Working Pattern: Flexible – school is open to discussing which days
13. Duration: Until July 2026 (excluding half term)
14. Pay Rate: £14 per hour
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must:
15. Have the Right to Work in the UK
16. Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply)
17. Provide professional references covering the last 24 months
18. Have experience working with DT machinery, tools, or workshop environments
19. Be confident supporting practical lessons and maintaining a safe workspace
20. Hold relevant workshop, DT, or technician experience (school‑based experience desirable but not essential)
