Dietetic Assistant

We are seeking committed, enthusiastic, and compassionate individuals to join our Dietetic Team at Southport Hospital. With direct supervision of the Dietitian, you will undertake nutritional intervention for a defined caseload, contribute to the daily running of the dietetic department and work with the wider MDT to improve nutritional screening quality.

Main duties of the job
A job plan will be set with the post holder and reviewed frequently to ensure service priorities are clearly understood.
A clearly defined caseload of patients with allocated supervision. Nutritional assessments and care planning will be undertaken.
Administrative duties to support the Dietetic Service, inclusive of Home Enteral Tube Feeding processes.
Contribute to the education and delivery of resources/presentations to fellow MDT members and patient groups.
Involvement within service development projects.
Contribute to the efficiency and sustainability of the Nutritional Screening programme here at the Trust.

Qualifications
* Level 3 NVQ or equivalent in related subject
Knowledge & Experience
* Demonstrate experience of working in a healthcare setting
* Demonstrate understanding of this role and how it may contribute to clinical outcomes
* Demonstrate understanding of various clinical roles of a Therapy Assistant
* Demonstrate commitment to personal development of self and others
* Demonstrate experience working alongside acute therapy teams
Skills & Abilities
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Ability to demonstrate problem solving approach but seeking guidance as required
* Ability to perform administrative based tasks
Physical Effort
* Ability to carry out moving and handling with patients and equipment
* Car user with full clean driving license
