Job Description:

Be part of the beginning –

Balmaud is a true Highland Single Estate Distillery, where every part of the whisky-making journey happens in one place. Built in 2024 by a family who has farmed the land for generations, the family-run distillery is set amongst fields where malting barley is grown and powered by green energy produced on the farm. Now with a team of skilled craftsmen, we produce a new Single Malt Scotch Whisky alongside our pilot plant for other spirits.

We are looking for passionate individuals to join us as we create a new whisky legend – shaping a legacy for decades to come.

Our team

The successful candidate will join a team of two with over 50 years of industry experience, knowledgeable in every stage from malting to bottling and exporting. As we expand into full production, the business needs are growing, and we value skilled craftsmen capable of handling various tasks.

Responsibilities

* Process and observe malting, mashing, fermentation, and distillation processes
* Monitor equipment performance and reliability, ensuring proper setup and calibration
* Perform basic maintenance
* Assist in warehousing and all distillery operations
* Ensure activities meet quality and safety standards
* Intake and process raw materials
* Record process information accurately
* Maintain high standards of site housekeeping
* Assist with tanker loading and spirit accounting
* Adhere to HMRC, health & safety, food safety, and environmental regulations
* Vatting, bottling, and packaging of spirits
* Perform other distillery operations as required

Experience

* Demonstrate initiative and problem-solving skills
* Ability to work independently and in a team
* Strong work ethic
* Accurate data recording and responsive action
* Maintain high housekeeping standards
* IT literate
* Minimum 5 years’ experience required
* Previous engineering experience is advantageous
* May require additional hours based on business needs
