Job Title: Student Mentor

About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and empathetic Student Mentor to support pupils aged 16‑19 with their academic progress, behaviour, and personal development. You will play a key role in helping students overcome barriers to learning, build confidence, and stay engaged in education.
Key Responsibilities
* 1:1 and small group mentoring to students
* Support pupils with behaviour, attendance, and engagement
* Build positive relationships and act as a trusted adult
* Deliver mentoring sessions focused on confidence, resilience, and goal setting
* Work closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and SENCO
* Monitor and track student progress
About You
* Experience working with young people (schools, youth work, coaching, or similar)
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills
* Ability to build rapport with challenging or disengaged students
* Patient, resilient, and proactive
* Passionate about supporting young people to succeed
Desirable
* Experience in SEN, SEMH, or alternative provision
* Background in psychology, youth work, or education
* Behaviour management training
