Hays Education are working in partnership with a well-established and forward-thinking secondary school in Burnage to recruit an experienced Facilities Manager on a temporary basis until the end of the academic year.This is a key role within the school, responsible for ensuring the site is safe, secure, and fully operational to support a positive learning environment for staff and pupils.Location: Burnage, M19Start Date: ASAPContract: Temporary until end of academic yearRate: Up to £18/hour DOEHours: Full-time, 6am – 1:30pm (some flexibility on hours available)What You’ll Be Doing
1. Overseeing the day-to-day management of the school site
2. Opening and securing the premises (early start required)
3. Carrying out maintenance, repairs, and general upkeep of the building and grounds
4. Ensuringpliance with health & safety regulations and site procedures
5. Managing contractors and overseeing works on site
6. Supporting with statutory checks, audits, and site inspections
7. Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and presentation across the school
What We’re Looking For
8. Previous experience in a school-based facilities, site manager, or caretaker role
9. Strong understanding of health & safety andpliance within an educational setting
10. Practical, hands-on approach with the ability to manage and prioritise workload independently
11. Reliable, proactive, andmitted to maintaining a safe school environment
12. An Enhanced Children’s DBS on the Update Service
