Job Title: Contract Lean Manufacturing Engineer / Manufacturing Engineer, Continuous Improvement, Industrial Engineer
Duration: 6 months rolling

This is a real opportunity for a Lean Manufacturing Engineer / Industrial Engineer with a passion for lean / Continuous Improvement to support key projects and assist this leading manufacturer in their lean journey.
This role involves hands-on Industrial Engineering / Manufacturing Engineering to support manufacturing operations. The focus is on Industrial Engineering / lean / continuous improvements to increase production output across mechanical manufacturing operations. There is significant opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer with a background in Industrial Engineering / lean / six sigma / continuous improvements to make a tangible difference.
The role emphasizes making positive, hands-on incremental changes through shop floor presence rather than at a strategic, hands-off level.
Key accountabilities include:
1. Utilising technical acumen to identify areas for change and managing the implementation of initiatives to successful completion.
2. Standardising work instructions and reducing changeover times on equipment.
3. Simplifying component assembly and manufacturing processes.
4. Identifying cost-saving opportunities and bottlenecks to reduce cycle time and improve effectiveness using Continuous Improvement / Lean Six Sigma tools.
5. Working with manufacturing teams to optimise production lines and simplify assembly and manufacturing.
6. Driving, supporting, training on, and facilitating Lean Six Sigma activities, providing engineering resources for Kaizen and Lean projects.
Ideal candidates will have:
* Proven Production Engineering / Manufacturing Engineering experience within a mechanical or assembly manufacturing environment.
* Knowledge of lean tools and initiatives such as Six Sigma, Kaizen, DFM, SPC, 5S, FMEA.
* Experience in highly regulated industries such as medical, automotive, aerospace, or similar.
