Deputy Operations Manager - Cardiology and Clinical Genetics

Division D is seeking an outstanding operational manager to join the Division as a Deputy Operations Manager (2 posts, one is substantive and another is fixed term for 1 year) covering Cardiology and Clinical Genetics. This is a pivotal role in delivering recovery plans for RTT targets, DMO1 diagnostic targets, improvements in length of stay and ED performance.
This is a demanding management role requiring excellent prioritisation skills, problem-solving and a collaborative approach. You will have experience in management and leadership of clinical services. An eye for detail and excellent interpersonal skills with proven experience of working operationally in the NHS is essential. You will need to be resilient, flexible and remain calm under pressure.

Main duties of the job
The key focus of this post will be on delivering the key objectives and targets for the services and Division. This will involve working with partner organisations and the ICB. The post holder will contribute to strategic and annual business planning for their service areas, including the engagement of senior medical and other staff, as required. They will also coordinate the planning, development and implementation of service improvement, capital and other projects for the areas they are responsible for. They will administer clinical governance processes within their areas and assist in the management of risk, as well as provide cross cover within the Division if required.
