Overview
A female personal assistant is required for a 17-year-old young female who is diagnosed with cerebral palsy and global development delay. She is non-verbal and unable to walk unaided but has a cheeky sense of humour.
Responsibilities
* Supervising the Service User at all times.
* Enabling the Service User to access social activities such as Brownies, Touch Therapy, trampoline, horse riding and Pedal Power.
* Ensuring that the Service User is safe at all times.
* Transporting the Service User to places in the community.
* Assisting the Service User to improve her confidence, physical skills and ability to deal with a variety of social situations.
* Personal care will also be required.

Hours of Work
* 10 hours a week.
* Normally 3 sessions per week: after school Monday, Tuesday and Thursday/Friday but flexibility is required.
Rate of Pay
£12.60
Type of Person Required
* Epilepsy trained preferably
* Must have access to a vehicle and hold a full driving license. The use of your vehicle will be required for this role.
* Must be reliable
* Must be flexible
* Must be patient
* Experience in a similar role is desirable. Preferably assisting another non-verbal young person with challenging needs.
About the Job
Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid monthly on return of a payslip provided by the Centre for Independent Living. You will receive 5.6 weeks paid holiday (pro rata). You may be required to apply for a DBS check at no expense to you.
