About the Quantity Surveyor (Painting) Role
As a Quantity Surveyor (Painting), you’ll oversee multiple projects from pre-site costings through to final accounts.
You’ll manage everything from tendering, CVRs and procurement to on-site inspections and stakeholder liaison.
Working 50% from the office and 50% on-site, you’ll have full commercial responsibility for making sure projects are profitable, precise, and perfectly delivered.
Key Responsibilities
1. Price projects using NHF schedules of rates and create accurate cost estimates
2. Set and manage financial targets across multiple contracts
3. Take charge of full monthly CVRs, reporting, and forecasting
4. Raise purchase orders, manage invoices, and control commercial documentation
5. Collaborate with clients, site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers
6. Ensure works are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards
7. Oversee final accounts and ensure cash flow is protected
8. Lead multiple contracts simultaneously with full financial accountability
What We’re Looking For
9. Proven track record as a Quantity Surveyor or Painting Surveyor managing similar projects
10. Minimum 5 years of experience in surveying, estimating, or commercial roles
11. Experience in the social housing, education, leisure, or defence sectors is essential
12. Solid understanding of NHF schedules and cost control systems
13. Strong communication and relationship-building skills
14. A sharp eye for financial detail and a proactive mindset
15. Ability to juggle multiple contracts and prioritise under pressure
16. Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the region
