Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Café Manager to oversee the daily operations of our café. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in hospitality and food service, demonstrating exceptional leadership skills and a passion for delivering outstanding customer experiences. This role requires a hands-on approach to managing staff, ensuring food safety, and maintaining high standards of food preparation and service.
Duties
* Supervise daily café operations, ensuring efficient service and adherence to quality standards.
* Manage a team of baristas and kitchen staff, providing training and support to enhance their skills and performance.
* Oversee food preparation and production, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations and best practices.
* Maintain inventory levels, order supplies as needed, and manage stock rotation to minimise waste.
* Develop menus that reflect current trends while catering to customer preferences.
* Foster a welcoming atmosphere for customers, addressing any concerns or feedback promptly.
* Ensure cleanliness and organisation of the café environment, including kitchen areas.
* Collaborate with upper management to implement marketing strategies that attract new customers.
Requirements
* Proven experience in a managerial role within the hospitality or restaurant industry.
* Strong culinary skills with experience in food preparation and cooking.
* Demonstrated supervisory experience with the ability to lead and motivate a team effectively.
* Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations is essential.
* Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service.
* Previous experience as a barista or in café operations is highly desirable.
* Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
