Automotive Electric Drive Unit (Lead Engineer)
Job Description:
1. Leading and owning the complete responsibility of Electric Drive Unit for the specific program
2. Responsible for all technical delivery of the Electric Drive Unit design and support the project timing requirements.
3. Technical issue management
4. Identify the probable technical issue and plan to overcome those in advance Chair issue start-up meeting.
5. Provide alternative feasible & cost-effective solutions.
6. Close tracking and monitoring for issue resolution till implementation.
7. Keep record of issues for future aspect
8. Identify issues that need escalation and seek necessary help in time.
9. Smart Sheet, APQP update, and deliverables met for each gateway.
10. Manage and resolve issues and technical documentation.
11. Generate and maintain engineering specifications for the EDU.
12. Prepare DVP plan align with DFMEA.
13. Revise and update DFMEA as per the field test
14. Update design rules and standard process
15. Ensure DFS & DFM
16. Detail engineering drawings for assembly to child part level
17. Material selection and testing reports
18. Engineering sign-off status management
19. Conduct and monitor validation test case completion as per the DVP Conduct audit of test case evidence to ensure compliance with expectation
20. PPAP & PSW sign-off
21. Continual process improvement
22. Working to optimize processes and reporting tools to increase departmental efficiency.
23. Support for design and packaging of e-powertrain components in vehicle environment to meet functionality requirement as well as performance requirement.
24. Interact with all internal & external stake holder for effective design solution.
25. Conduct benchmarking study of competitor’s products and prepare reports.
26. Responsible for effective supplier management to ensure parts are delivered to the build phases in time with required quality.
Desired Skills and Experience:
27. Strong knowledge of different Electric Drive Unit used in BEV vehicles and their Transmission system.
28. Should be able to do the engineering calculation for torque, speed, gear selection and gear ratio optimization.
29. Good understanding of vehicle dynamics, vehicle integration and BEV sub system commodities
30. Strong knowledge in casting and machining process
31. Experience in Catia V6 and PLM software
32. Previous experience with the development of BEV driveline systems
33. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with strong influencing and engagement skills
34. Experience with vehicle engineering packaging requirements
35. Previous experience in managing resolution of business, technical and process issues within a Project Team environment.
36. A good working knowledge of product creation & delivery, change control, product definition and change management processes.
37. Degree qualified or equivalent experience preferred.
