April Start - School Caretaker (Full-Time)
Location: Hatfield (occasional travel to St Albans)
Salary: £23,500 - £33,000+ per annum (depending on experience)
Start Date: 13th April (Paid training during Easter Break)

We are seeking a dependable, hands-on School Caretaker to join our small alternative provision school in Hatfield this April.
This is a vital, full-time position beginning immediately after the Easter Break. We are keen to secure the right candidate promptly, so early applications are strongly encouraged.

The Role
Monday-Thursday split shifts: 07:30-10:30 & 13:30-17:30
Fridays & school holidays: 07:30-15:30
Paid handover/training week during Easter Break
Full safety and safeguarding training provided
Ongoing CPD and development opportunities
Although there is a midday break Monday-Thursday, this is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in the smooth and safe running of the school site.
For the right candidate, there is strong potential for this role to become permanent in the next academic year.
Key Responsibilities
Securing and locking the premises at the end of each day
Ensuring the site remains safe, secure, and compliant
Carrying out general maintenance and minor repairs
Maintaining a clean and welcoming environment
Completing routine health and safety checks
Reporting any concerns proactively
Occasional travel to support our St Albans site
About You
We are looking for someone who:
Is reliable, punctual, and takes responsibility seriously
Has strong practical/DIY skills
Can work independently and manage tasks effectively
Communicates confidently and professionally
Is flexible with split shifts
Holds a full driving licence (preferred due to inter-site travel)
This role would particularly suit someone local to Hatfield who can travel between sites when required.
