About the role We are looking for an Young Person's Resilience Worker - Education lead to join our innovative outreach service supporting young people and young adults in York. This role sits at the heart of prevention and early intervention. You will lead on delivering engaging, evidence-based education across schools, colleges, universities and alternative education settings, helping young people better understand the risks associated with drugs and alcohol and equipping them with the knowledge to make safer choices. You will design and deliver interactive workshops, awareness sessions and outreach activities, working closely with education providers, community partners and local stakeholders to build strong relationships and extend the reach of the service. Alongside this, you will collaborate with outreach colleagues to deliver community engagement across York, including participation in local events and awareness campaigns. Hours: full time, 37.5 hours per week *Salary : £27,861.26 - £32,002.35 per annum, pro rata* *Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours. What you’ll be doing In this role you will: Build strong relationships with schools, colleges, universities and alternative education providers Develop and deliver interactive education workshops focused on drugs, alcohol and harm reduction Create engaging session content and learning materials informed by evidence and best practice Support community outreach and engagement activities across York Work with volunteers and students on placement, supporting their learning and development Contribute to the service’s digital offer, including online resources and social media engagement Safeguard young people and support appropriate referrals to partner services when required The role combines education, outreach and community engagement, making it ideal for someone who enjoys variety and working directly with young people. What we’re looking for We’re looking for someone who is confident, creative and passionate about supporting young people. You will bring: Experience of working with young people or young adults (16–25) Experience delivering group work, workshops or educational sessions Knowledge of issues affecting young people, including substance use and wellbeing Strong communication skills and the ability to engage diverse audiences An understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries The ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team Experience working in education settings such as schools, colleges or universities would be highly beneficial.
