Avens is a leading care provider committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred care and support to adults with learning disabilities. We are passionate about developing our workforce and have our own in house dedicated City and Guilds ("C&G") accredited Learning and Development team, known as the Tailored Training Learning Centre ("the Centre"). A rare opportunity has arisen to join our small friendly team and we are now seeking a dedicated and professional Assessor.
The Role
As an Assessor, you will be responsible for mentoring and overseeing your own group of learners, ensuring they complete their learning and assessment successfully. You will provide ongoing support, guidance, and feedback to them while working closely with their managers and the training team to ensure that industry and qualification standards are consistently met.
This is a full-time role with a varied workload, requiring flexibility to conduct assessments across different workplace settings within the Kettering area of the East Midlands.

The Head of Learning and Development and her deputy, the Learning and Development Manager
Key Responsibilities
* Take responsibility for a group of learners, as agreed from time to time with your line manager, to ensure successful completion of their programme.
* Act as the main point of contact for learners, providing clear feedback and guidance.
* Plan, deliver, and assess learners' competence against required standards.
* Organise and carry out workplace assessments and reviews.
* Support learners in building assessment portfolios and preparing work for quality assurance.
* Maintain accurate learner records in line with C&G and Centre requirements.
* Liaise with the managers to assess learner suitability and progress.
* Ensure health and safety, safeguarding, equality, and data protection policies are upheld at all times.
* Undertake ongoing CPD to maintain professional knowledge and skills.
What We're Looking For
* A qualified assessor with a Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (CAVA) or equivalent (TAQA, A1, D32/33).
* An occupationally qualified in Health and Social Care up to level 3.
* Demonstrable experience of carrying out assessments within Health and Social Care settings.
* Strong organisational and record-keeping skills.
* Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and support learners.
* Commitment to safeguarding, equality, and promoting professional standards.
* A car owner/driver who has the flexibility to travel locally within approximately a 20-mile radius of Kettering as part of the role.
What We Offer
* Starting salary in the range of £24,500 to £26,500 (depending on qualification and experience).
* 28 days holiday plus the 8 days public holidays normally observed in England and Wales.
