Role Overview As a Graduate / Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will assist in the full commercial lifecycle of multiple high-profile projects from award to final account, while gaining valuable experience in project coordination. You will be supported by the commercial and contracts teams to grow in both skill and responsibility. This role offers a mapped-out path for development, including support for professional qualifications and the potential for rapid progression. Key Responsibilities Commercial Duties * Review contract terms, drawings, and client requirements, identifying commercial risks and solutions * Monitor and agree instructions and variations in line with contractual procedures * Prepare, submit, and agree monthly valuations and final accounts with clients * Track project costs and produce cost-value reconciliations * Assist in procurement and management of subcontractors including payments and final accounts * Support the estimating and business development teams with commercial input Project Coordination Duties * Liaise with clients, statutory bodies, and internal teams to ensure compliance and readiness for site works * Help manage project programmes, notifications, and health & safety documentation * Prepare and issue project-specific site packs, ensuring all pre-start information is in place * Maintain regular communication with the wider team throughout project lifecycle * Contribute to project documentation including method statements, plans, and SWMPs What We’re Looking For * A recent graduate or early-career QS with a degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction * Strong communication and numeracy skills * Ability to interpret technical documents and contribute to both commercial and project coordination tasks * Organised, proactive, and detail-oriented * Willingness to travel and occasionally stay away from home * Full UK driving licence What’s on Offer * Competitive salary (depending on experience) * Company car * Life care cover and pension scheme (3% employer contribution) * 22 days holiday bank holidays * Performance-based bonus * Support for further qualifications and career development * Inclusive and supportive team culture * Exposure to challenging and diverse projects with blue-chip clients If you're looking to build a long-term career in the construction industry with a forward-thinking contractor, this opportunity offers structured development, hands-on experience, and clear progression
