We are currently recruiting on behalf of a client based in Romsey who are a electrical equipment manufacturer and supplier. They are currently looking for a Production Planner to join their team. This is an integral role for the businessas it involves scheduling warehouse, production and test teams and liaising with project sales teams as well as ensuring the stock is purchased in the correct quantities for work coming in. This is a permanent position that is office based, Monday-Friday 9am-5:30pm.
Job Overview:
The Production Planner will be required to establish and control production plans for the Warehouse production and test lines ensuring that the manufacturing plan is maintained in line with the Master production schedule. Coordinate with Hardware and Service Operation departments, communicate effectively with production and warehouse teams to ensure plans are understood and executed on time. Support engineering changes and work with Design team for effective timely solutions for production plan.
Responsibilities:
- Run weekly planning meetings with Hardware and Operations Departments to ensure understanding of and adherence to plan. Review all bookings, shortages, manpower, constraints, priorities and adjust accordingly.
- Ensure incoming materials are managed and expedited through the Goods Inwards Inspection function in accordance with overall production requirements.
-You will liaise with suppliers, supply chains to remain fully updated on any events resulting in supply discrepancy or interruption
- Ensure the new orders are correctly broken down into production tasks and tasks are booked into production to ensure on time delivery.
- Generate and maintain ‘Production Schedules’ and documentation for Warehouse, Production and test ensuring that these complement the overall master production schedule. Ensure that capacity constraints and batching controls are considered in the creation of these plans.
-Proactively resolve issues and manage schedule risk.
-Maintain the LINK 50 barcode system and ensure orders are posted correctly on shipment of projects.Implementing or improving Production planning.
- Ensuring all procedures adhere to ISO9001 Quality control systems.
-Monitor returned units requiring repair from ticketing system and ensure timely booking into the production schedule
-Ensuring all production files are closed off with correct information
-To perform any other duties as instructed from time to time by any Director of the company or by the Service Supervisor
Requirements:
-Excellent organisation skills
-Previous Production Planning Experience
-Understanding of planning within production and/or engineering or manufacturing
-Excellent time management
-Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
-Working in adherence with Health and safety rules
-Attention to detail with methodical approach to tasks
