The Role
You will play a key part in the finance team, supporting daily operations and contributing to accurate financial reporting. Responsibilities include:
Essential Duties
* Assisting with the preparation of management accounts and reports
* Ensuring all financial practices align with accounting standards and company policies
* Completing bank reconciliations
* Providing payroll support
* Managing intercompany transactions
* Supporting year‑end audit processes
* Payroll consolidation tasks
Desired Experience
* Handling purchase ledger activities
* Fixed asset accounting
* Preparing and reviewing financial statements, budgets, and forecasts
* Conducting variance analysis to highlight trends and identify potential issues
* Working collaboratively with other departments to support business decisions
Additional Requirements
* Carrying out ad hoc duties as required by senior management and directors
* Experience with Sage (1000) is advantageous.
Skills & Qualifications
* AAT Level 4 qualification (minimum requirement)
* Solid understanding of financial accounting principles and procedures
* Proficiency with accounting software such as Sage, PeopleSoft, QuickBooks, or Xero
* Strong analytical skills and excellent attention to detail
* Advanced Excel abilities for data analysis and reporting
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
Hours of Work
* Monday to Friday, 39 hours per week
