About the job
The role of a recycling communication officer is to be 'the voice' of Cardiff's recycling and waste service.
This includes speaking with residents, community groups, schools and trade customers through a range of door knocking and community outreach sessions.
Your conversations will include the correct presentation of waste, the benefits of recycling, how to reduce waste etc.
You’ll also help shape and roll out the changes needed to grow segregated recycling in flats right across the city. You will help to provide key data, to develop Cardiff's waste strategy. This will include the completion of face to face surveys, on street monitoring and desk based research.
What We Are Looking For From You
We are looking firstly for someone who is passionate about the Environment. You need to be able to clearly explain how positive actions, from a recycling and waste minimisation perspective, will lead to overall improvements.
You will need to be confident in speaking to a wide range of stakeholders, and not be afraid of an audience.
You will have good organisation skills, and be able to contribute effectively as part of a team. You will need to be flexible, to meet the demands of the service.
You will embrace change, and be able to effectively communicate change to stakeholders.
