Description Job Summary The Director, Strategic Sourcing role is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to source key strategic materials used in the manufacturing and packaging of contact lenses and to ensure continuity of supply for critical strategic materials for Manufacturing and Packaging activities in collaboration with the regional Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and Americas (AMER) procurement operations teams. Supports and oversees the supplier relationship that includes managing large contracts, negotiating prices, monitoring performance, and coordinating projects whilst maintaining the highest standards of compliance. This includes supplier visits as required. Manages a team of Global Sourcing Managers geographically dispersed who are responsible for managing their suppliers and are the Global Category lead within an identified remit. Essential Functions & Accountabilities Develops and implements strategies in collaboration with the Global Sourcing and Procurement Operations leadership to support the management of sourcing of all strategic materials used in the manufacture and packaging of contact lenses. Leads and mentors a team of procurement professionals, fostering a high-performance culture and promoting continuous improvement. Collaborates with regional EMEA and AMER procurement operations teams to ensure alignment and integration of procurement strategies with overall business objectives. Develops sourcing plans with the category managers and manufacturing facilities that focus on delivery performance, quality performance, cost improvements, and continuous improvement plans for each of the key strategic materials. Supports negotiations for major contracts and ensuring favourable terms and conditions. Ensures compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards. Optimizes procurement processes and systems to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. In collaboration with the EMEA and AMER procurement operations teams, identifies opportunities for cost savings and value creation through strategic sourcing, process improvements, and supplier innovation. Tracks cost reduction initiatives against performance targets. Assesses and mitigates risks associated with supply chain disruptions, supplier performance, and market volatility including probability, impact, and length of recovery in the event of failure. Develops mitigation and contingency plans to ensure business continuity while minimizing the investment required (looking at the risks, costs, and benefits). Monitors and reports on key risk indicators and takes proactive measures to address potential issues. Works in conjunction with the Strategic Sourcing team, R&D, Global Supply Chain, Manufacturing and Packaging as required to assess materials used in current products and those that are candidates for new products. Develops plans to manage the risks associated with these options. Evaluates key performance indicators to ensure that we are tracking our material performance and risks and are taking actions to improve CVI’s overall level of delivery, quality, cost, and risk. Builds strong relationships with internal stakeholders, to understand their needs and priorities. Acts as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on sourcing, procurement, and supply chain matters. Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management, highlighting achievements, challenges, and opportunities for improvement. Travel Requirements Domestic and International travel: up to 20% Qualifications Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities : Demonstrates strategic leadership, with the ability to translate strategies into objectives and action plans, monitor progress and drive results. Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills to present information and communicate effectively at all levels within the company as well as cross functionally with departments. Proven success of attracting, managing, retaining, and engaging a diverse team of geographically dispersed professionals. Demonstrates strong cultural awareness. Strong influencing and negotiation skills. Leads and inspires teams through organizational change. Ability to adapt to a fast and dynamic environment. Willing to flex work hours to meet the needs of a global organization. Able to build and maintain strong relationships necessary for influencing organizations outside of Procurement based on honesty, condor, and trust. High level of analytical evaluation and critical thinking skills. Highly self-motivated, self-directed, and attentive to detail. Quickness of comprehension and aptitude for learning. Advanced skills in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Demonstrates the Company Values through all interactions: Partners, Friendly, Dedicated, Inventive. Work Environment : Normal office environment. Ability to perform light to medium physical work and standing for long periods of time, if required depending on the task. Prolonged sitting in front of a laptop. Experience : Minimum 8 years’ experience in chemical sourcing, purchasing, or procurement in a controlled QSR and ISO production environment required. Prior managerial experience of a global team required. Experience working in a global organization and with geographically dispersed colleagues and stakeholders. Strong understanding of the end-to-end supply chain. Previous experience in a regulated industry, medical device, or similar industry required. Experience in collaborating with key stakeholders across functions in a matrixed organization, for instance supply chain, manufacturing, packaging and distribution operations, and commercial/sales functions. Education : Bachelor's Degree required in Material Management, Purchasing, Procurement, Supply Chain. MCIPS or APICS qualification preferred. Master’s degree or higher-level degree preferred. For U.S. locations that require disclosure of compensation, the starting base pay for this role is between $127,246.00 - $195,763.00 and may include cost of living adjustments. The actual base pay includes many factors and is subject to change and modification in the future. This position may also be eligible for other types of compensation and benefits.
