£35,000 – £42,000 per annum
A well-established and growing transport planning consultancy with a strong presence in the development sector is seeking a Senior Transport Planner (Development Planning) to join its Wakefield-based team. The business has built an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality, commercially focused advice across a diverse portfolio of residential, commercial, education, and mixed-use schemes nationwide. The Role
Preparing Transport Assessments and Transport Statements for a wide range of developments and clients, including:
Application of current and emerging national and local planning policy
Accessibility assessments, including the use of ATE tools/guidance for larger sites
Analysis of personal injury accident data
Use of TRICS and alternative trip generation methodologies
Trip distribution methodologies
Junction modelling, including Junctions and LinSig
Preparing development-related Travel Plans, with a sound understanding of planning conditions and S106 obligations
Undertaking Access Feasibility Assessments, with knowledge of relevant design standards and guidance
Preparing Construction Traffic Management PlansThe Candidate
The ideal candidate will possess:
A strong track record of independently producing high-quality transport planning reports across a variety of development types
Experience mentoring or supporting junior team members and ensuring the quality and accuracy of outputs
Excellent written, analytical, and numerical skills
Strong communication skills, with the confidence to engage effectively with clients, stakeholders, and local highway and planning authorities
The ability to manage competing deadlines and collaborate effectively to deliver projects on time
Commercial awareness, including experience preparing fee proposals and managing project budgets
An interest in contributing to a growing SME environment, where individual ideas and input can help shape the future of the business
