Job Title: Design & Technology and Art Teacher (Food Technology Specialism)

Contract: Full-time (Monday–Friday, 8:00am–3:00pm)
Overview:
We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Design & Technology Teacher with a specialism in Food Technology to join a secondary school in Middlesbrough. This is a full-time role, ideal for someone who is confident delivering practical and theory-based lessons and has experience working with workshop machinery.
Key Responsibilities:

Teach Design & Technology across KS3 and KS4, with a focus on Food Technology
*
Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging, high-quality lessons
*
Safely operate and supervise the use of large machinery and workshop equipment
*
Ensure all health & safety regulations are strictly followed in practical environments
*
Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners
*
Manage classroom behaviour effectively to maintain a positive learning environment
*
Assess, monitor, and report on student progress
Requirements:
*
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant DT/Engineering/Food Technology degree
*
Experience teaching Design & Technology at secondary level
*
Strong knowledge of Food Technology curriculum
*
Competence and confidence using large machinery (e.g. saws, drills, workshop tools)
*
Solid understanding of health & safety procedures in a workshop/classroom setting
*
Excellent classroom management and organisational skills
