To work within a multidisciplinary team who provide a comprehensive MRI Scanning Service to the Trust
The MRI team contributes to the delivery of outstanding patient care by:
* Providing a safe and efficient service for patients
* Acting in a professional manner, showing compassion and empathy to patients

* Facilitating achievement of waiting time targets and emergency scans
* Responsible use of resources
* Producing high quality imaging
Main duties of the job
Clinical
* Operate within the MRI service to help facilitate a 7-day scanning service at Chesterfield Royal Hospital and Walton CDC
* Train in and become proficient in all aspects of MRI scanning within CRH
* Assist in organising and controlling workflow in the department to provide an efficient service
* Provide a consistent high standard of radiography and assist in supervising other staff to aid clinicians in achieving accurate diagnoses
* Maintain consistent high standard of care and attention to patients, maintaining the Trust’s quality standards
* Liaise and communicate with other members of the multidisciplinary team within and outside the Directorate
* Assist in the organisation of and participate in the Directorate's Quality Assurance Programme
Extended duties
* Undertake the administration of I.V. contrast agents in accordance with Directorate and Trust Policies and Procedures commensurate with this post’s grade

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Diploma of the College of Radiographers or BSc (Hons) Degree in Diagnostic Radiography
* Previous experience in MRI
* HCPC Registration
* 5+ years’ experience in MRI
Experience
* Good knowledge and understanding of MRI safety principles
* Relevant and comprehensive range of clinical experience in MRI
* Cannulation training and experience
Skills
* Good written and verbal communication skills
* Able to motivate other staff
* Able to teach and support staff
* Organisational skills
* Experience of training others
