About This Opportunity
Cumberland Council is looking for a compassionate and motivated Support Worker to join our Fostering and Adoption team. In this rewarding role, youll work directly with carers and children, supporting recruitment, assessment, and placement activities. Youll also deliver therapeutic interventions; help build parenting confidence and ensure the voice of the child is central to all planning and support.
Were looking for someone with an NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant field, strong communication and organisational skills, and experience working with children, families, or carers. In return, youll join a supportive, values-led team committed to improving outcomes for vulnerable children. This role requires flexible working, including evenings and weekends.
This role is available on a permanent basis.

This role requires a DBS check. The level of check for this role is - Enhanced DBS Check with a Childrens Barred List check.
Please note this role involves working in regulated activity with Children. It is an offence for people who are barred from working in regulated activity to apply for roles that require them to work unsupervised with Children.
