Manufacturing Technician II

Location: Calthorpe Road, Birmingham, UK
Job Type: Full-time, Onsite

As a Manufacturing Technician, you will play a key role in the manufacture and in-process testing of in-vitro diagnostic devices. Working within a collaborative team, you will follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure products are built and tested to the highest quality, safety, and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

* Operate and maintain manufacturing and testing equipment, ensuring calibration, documentation, and operational readiness.

* Use ERP systems to record work progress, manage inventory, and support effective stock control.

* Complete production records and worksheets accurately and in real time in line with the Quality Management System (QMS).

* Support right-first-time manufacturing and on-time delivery through prompt reporting of issues, required checks, and up-to-date training compliance.

* Plan and prioritise workloads with guidance from your line manager to meet production and test schedules while maintaining a safe and organised environment.

Education & Experience

* Essential: Grade C/5 or above in GCSE Maths, English and Science (or equivalent)

* Desirable: Degree or A Levels in a relevant scientific subject

* Experience: Minimum 1 year in manufacturing, operations, production, lab or related setting preferred

* Preferred: Experience in a cGMP environment

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

* Computer literate (Word, Excel)

* Strong organisation, time management, and planning skills

* Excellent written and verbal communication

* High attention to detail and ability to multi-task

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

* Use of walk-in freezers and cold rooms

* Commitment to personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe working practices
