Position: Quality Assurance Operative

Working hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours/week, starting at 6am.
Job Purpose: To support the production area by ensuring all customer, legislative, and industry checks are completed and documented properly. Play a key role in the control, monitoring, and verification activities required by the site's H.A.C.C.P and food safety management systems.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Monitor and verify product compliance with legislative and customer specifications through daily checks (temperature, contamination, labels, weight, packaging).
2. Ensure all outgoing products meet relevant standards and specifications.
3. Verify accuracy and quality of product labels.
4. Complete monitoring and verification in line with H.A.C.C.P plan.
5. Collect environmental swabs and microbiological samples, upload data, and prepare samples for dispatch.
6. Monitor pH levels within customer specifications and track trends.
7. Liaise with production staff to identify and mitigate foreign body risks.
8. Conduct Good Manufacturing Practice audits and liaise with supervisors on outcomes.
9. Take and verify DNA samples, prepare for external laboratory testing.
10. Perform E.Coli testing within internal laboratory.
11. Assist in external audit preparations.
12. Maintain accurate and legible records.
13. Perform other duties as assigned by management within your competency.
