Senior Accountant
Location: Somerset
Contract: Temporary (3 months)
Salary: 351.83 per day umbrella / 309.74 PAYE Inclusive / 276.38 PAYE Exclusive
Start Date: ASAP
The postholder will be required to perform a range of advanced professional accounting activities, and provide financial advice and guidance, to support in delivering a comprehensive accounting and advisory service to budget holders, project managers and decision makers.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide expert financial advice and guidance to senior leaders and stakeholders, ensuring informed decision-making on financial implications.
* Lead on the preparation and management of revenue and/or capital budgets, aligning financial planning with strategic objectives
* Monitor financial performance, identifying risks and variances, and working collaboratively to implement solutions
* Prepare statutory accounts and financial reports, including presenting to committees and governance bodies
* Review legislative changes and evaluate the impact on financial policies, guidelines and protocols.
Candidate Criteria
* Fully qualified accountant
* Significant experience in budgeting, financial reporting, and financial analysis within a complex organisation
* Strong knowledge of public sector finance, legislation, and regulatory requirements
* Proven ability to influence, communicate, and build relationships with senior stakeholders
