Overview
Established in 2022, Aston Martin Performance Technologies (AMPT) Special Projects is the advanced engineering division of the Aston Martin Racing Performance Group. AMPT Special Projects applies F1-derived high-performance engineering, innovation, and breakthrough technologies to deliver cutting-edge projects across both automotive and non-automotive sectors. We are currently seeking a Japanese-Speaking Project Coordinator to play a vital role in supporting the successful delivery of complex engineering programmes. In this position, fluent Japanese language skills are essential, as you will help facilitate seamless collaboration with Japanese OEMs, suppliers, and technology partners. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to world-class engineering programmes that push boundaries beyond the racetrack.
Responsibilities
* Support project leads and team members in the coordination and delivery of AMPT projects.
* Assist with project planning, scheduling, documentation, and milestone tracking.
* Monitor project activities, risks, issues, and dependencies, escalating where necessary.
* Prepare and maintain project reports, trackers, and status updates.
* Coordinate communication with stakeholders, preparing presentations and updates.
* Ensure all project documentation is well-structured, accurate, and accessible.
* Organise and support meetings, including minute-taking and follow-up actions.
* Facilitate collaboration across internal teams and external Japanese partners.
* Proactively support continuous improvement in project coordination processes.
Qualifications & Skills
* Fluent in Japanese (spoken, written, and read); with proven experience using the language in a technical or engineering context. Certification such as JLPT N2 or higher strongly preferred.
* Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business, Project Management, or equivalent experience.
* Experience coordinating projects in a technical or engineering environment.
* Working knowledge of project management principles, tools, and methodologies.
* Familiarity with BOM (Bill of Materials) structures and technical documentation.
* Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills; able to prioritise and manage multiple tasks.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across cultures and disciplines.
* Calm, professional, and adaptable in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
* Proactive, reliable, and self-motivated with a positive, team-oriented approach.
* Commitment to Health & Safety principles in a technical/engineering setting.
