Role Overview:
As a Production Engineering Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring the efficient daily running of the Sony UK Tech test and assembly operations, including Bath Soldering. This will involve working on preventative maintenance (TPM), breakdowns, and efficiency improvements, all while ensuring a safe and controlled working environment.
You will need strong mechanical technical ability, including the ability to read and interpret Mechanical Engineering Drawings, use precision measuring and testing equipment, and apply fault-finding and problem-solving skills. You will also have the opportunity to implement and control process changes to drive continuous improvement.
The role works closely with Operational Managers, Supervisors, and the wider Production Engineering team, sharing best practices and providing technical leadership and support where needed. Training and development opportunities will be available to support growth within the role, making this an exciting opportunity for a proactive and technically skilled professional.
Key Responsibilities:
* Carry out total productive maintenance (TPM) activities
* Confident at fault finding and repairing on a range of production/process equipment
* Control and implementation of key process changes
* Implementation of productive innovation ideas
* Provide input during Design for Manufacture evaluations
* Level 3 diploma in mechanical or maintenance engineering or above
* Able to communicate at all levels throughout the business
* Ability to make engineering and technical change decisions to improve quality, efficiency to the benefit of the business
* A strong team player with a positive attitude towards achieving schedules
* Self-motivated and strong sense of responsibility
* Hands on tools experience.
* Tool room experience – pillar drills, millers and lathes.
* An understanding of basic electrical engineering.
* Good aptitude for complex and technical operations.
