This post would be suitable for any post CCT candidate wishing to gain experience in the anaesthetic management of major surgical cases including hepatobiliary, ENT, urology, vascular, general surgery and orthopaedics in high-risk patients. The Freeman also has an extensive surgical robotics programme covering urology, ENT, hepatobiliary and colorectal allowing any successful candidate to gain useful experience in this field.
This post is to commence October 2025/ASAP for 9 months.
In addition to the challenges of the role, we can offer you a commitment to teaching, education, research and audit.
Responsibilities
* Provide specialist peri-operative care including pre-operative assessment, intra-operative anaesthetic management and post-operative care to patients undergoing a wide range of operative procedures.
* Provide Consultant anaesthetic cover for 9 months due to maternity leave of a colleague, thereby maintaining clinical capacity to treat and care for patients in this surgically orientated hospital.
* Commitment to teaching, education, research and audit.
