This is a new position at Blueclaw and one we’re very excited about. Reporting to the Head of SEO, the Senior SEO Manager will be responsible for heading up and measuring clients’ SEO strategies, and supporting SEO executives on a on-going basis.
A Blueclaw Senior SEO Manager is responsible for setting, delivering, measuring and adapting our clients’ SEO strategies on an on-going basis.
The Senior SEO Manager will also be responsible in shaping and building department processes/tools to ensure Blueclaw remains a best in-class organic search service.
An expert in all aspects of organic search, the Senior SEO Manager will seek to continually develop their own knowledge and help nurture the skill-sets of the wider Blueclaw Search team
Responsibilities
 * Lead the development, analysis and performance of your clients’ SEO campaigns.
 * Work closely with the wider search team on SEO best practice and new approaches taking into consideration the latest Google algorithm updates.
 * Deliver advanced Technical SEO consultancy.
 * Implement robust off-site strategies to help support and guide the Content, Outreach and PR team.
 * Help lead, run, review and maintain link building activities/processes across all client campaigns. Work closely with the SEO and Content Marketing teams on a strategic level to develop client proposals/concepts to ensure the various off-site activities achieve the maximum organic impact and hit the KPI requirements.
 * Be responsible for ensuring robust HTML, Site Architecture and Javascript SEO.
 * Use various tool-sets to a high level such as: Majestic, Ahrefs, SEMrush, SEOMonitor, Excel, Google Sheets and Google Analytics.
 * Provide strategic client and technical SEO support. Clear and concise client communication is a must.
 * Work closely with the wider search team on SEO best practice and new approaches taking into consideration the latest Google algorithm updates.
 * Develop a strong understanding of the products, competition, industry, marketing goals, KPIs and objectives for all client campaigns.
KPIs and Client Communication
 * To ensure that the effectiveness of SEO improvements is communicated properly and promptly to your client base.
 * To ensure all SEO reports produced are of a high standard, both in terms of written content and presentation, and utilise Blueclaw reporting templates.
 * Responsible for setting up, preparing and the delivery of regular client status meetings and reports.
 * To ensure advice and consultancy is clearly and concisely communicated to clients and any other stakeholders (e.g. development agencies).
Analytical and Technical Requirements
 * To effectively analyse the on-site/off-site strengths and weaknesses of client campaigns and assess the best strategy to pursue.
 * To recommend and implement on-site/off-site strategies – constantly reviewing and adapting the strategy to continuously improve client results.
 * A solid understanding of HTML, Site Architecture and Javascript SEO.
 * To use desktop software, such as Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets, to assist in the analysis of data, interpretation of insights and recognition of trends, anomalies or opportunities.
 * To efficiently manage your workload and accurately record your time using the company timesheet system.
Leadership
 * Take full responsibility for the line management of SEO Executives.
 * Prepare for and hold regular monthly one-2-ones and maintain a robust record of reporting/feedback.
 * Delegate tasks to SEO Executives, always being aware of their workload, and optimising production based on the different skillsets and time available, with time recording in the Teamwork system.
 * Identify opportunities for members of the SEO team to specialise in and help them achieve their SMART/competencies goals.
 * Have an appreciation of people, their requirements/needs, balancing firmness with flexibility, keeping employees motivated and organise appropriate training.
 * To ensure the team’s knowledge of the SEO industry is kept up to date and relevant by networking/researching/reading blogs and news sources.
 * To take part in, and where possible contribute, to engaging training and internal learning sessions that inspire and motivate the team
 * Work within the SMART model and strive to achieve the SMART goals within the timescales set ready for the annual appraisal.
