Are you looking to develop your career as a children's Speech and Language Therapist in a varied role with opportunities to grow your clinical interests by working across a diverse caseload?

You will be joining the Children's Integrated Therapy (CIT) team at an exciting juncture as we implement a new service structure and therapy model. Our vacancy is in the North East of the county (Bicester and Kidlington) and in Oxford city itself. We are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic and highly motivated therapist to join our team.

The role is advertised as a varied full-time position however we welcome applications for varying hours (do give us a call to talk about the post or flexible working options). There are sessions available working with primary and secondary aged children in both mainstream and special schools as well as a resource base for children with autism (we would be happy to talk to you about areas of interest and specialism) Please be advised this a permanent post.

Working alongside experienced colleagues you would support band 5 and band 4 colleagues. You would support children on our core clinical pathways (Speech Sound Disorders, Language Difficulties, Social Communication) with the opportunity to do some work with our fluency specialist on the Stammering pathway.

The SLT team is made up of Band 5 and 6 Therapists, Technical Assistants, Apprentices, and both Specialist Team Leads and Specialist Clinical Leads (Band 7). We provide Speech and Language Therapy for children and young people aged years across Oxfordshire in a range of settings. The Service delivery model is based on six Clinical Pathways and underpinned by the current evidence base. There will be opportunities for you to get involved in service improvement projects.

You will have opportunities to work alongside other members of the CIT team – Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and CIT Assistant Practitioners, as well as collaborating with the wider MDT in Education, Health and Social Services. We also have close links with SLTs at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford, where specialist services such as the Regional Cleft Palate and Cochlear Implant service are based.

You will have your own caseload to manage and prioritise, delivering timely assessment and intervention packages, contributing to the SEND process, engaging in clinical meetings and delivering training to staff and parents.

Oxfordshire Children's Integrated Therapy Service is made up of Children's Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Speech and Language Therapists, profession specific Therapy Instructors, Integrated Therapy Assistant Practitioners and an Administrative Team.

We are jointly commissioned by the ICB and Oxfordshire County Council. The Service is led by Operational Managers and Professional Leads for each Therapy. Therapy teams have strong links with education colleagues, paediatricians, and AHPs across Oxford Health Trust.

We offer a comprehensive induction programme, ongoing supervision (both group and individual) and appraisal with development reviews from experienced specialist staff, regular in-house training as well as opportunities for involvement in Service Development.

The successful candidate will be expected to actively engage in the Trust's supervision and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programme.
