Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Cook/Chef to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for food preparation and a strong understanding of kitchen operations. This role offers an exciting opportunity to craft delicious meals in a professional environment, ensuring high standards of food safety and customer satisfaction. Previous restaurant or culinary experience is preferred, but a genuine enthusiasm for cooking and serving quality food is essential.
Duties
* Prepare and cook a variety of dishes in accordance with established recipes and standards
* Ensure all food is prepared fresh, presented attractively, and served promptly
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, adhering to food safety regulations
* Assist with meal planning and ingredient ordering to ensure efficient kitchen operations
* Monitor stock levels and report shortages or issues to management
* Support the team during busy periods, including serving customers when necessary
* Follow health and safety guidelines diligently to prevent accidents and contamination
* Contribute to creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests through excellent service
Qualifications
* Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or a similar role within a restaurant or catering environment
* Strong knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure during peak hours
* Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in meal presentation and preparation
* Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
* Prior experience in serving customers is advantageous but not essential
* A recognised culinary qualification or relevant training is desirable but not mandatory
