Job Title: Gardener

Joining our Bank of casual staff allows you to choose shifts that are convenient for you and required by St Monica Trust.
The role of the Gardener is to maintain our building and grounds services for the safety and enjoyment of our residents, visitors, and colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
1. Undertake all gardening and grounds duties for the Trust, including maintenance of lawns, borders, flowerbeds, paths, ponds, and indoor planting.
2. Provide high-quality service to our customers, supporting and advising residents in gardening activities, and responding to queries from residents, colleagues, or visitors.
3. Collaborate with the wider Estates team on security and maintenance duties in line with policies, procedures, and health and safety legislation.
4. Assist with additional duties such as setting up for site events and activities, and timely collection of recycling and waste.
5. Respond to site emergencies, including those involving utility services, extreme weather, or environmental disasters.
6. Drive Trust vehicles, including the minibus, as required (if qualified).

Other Skills and Qualifications
Essential
* Experience as a gardener.
* Ability to perform practical tasks, including basic maintenance and security.
* Knowledge of safe operation of machinery and chemicals for gardening.
* Current, clean full driving license or ability to travel across our villages efficiently.
Desirable
* RHS Level 2 certificate or equivalent.
* Pa1 and Pa6a certificates.
* Chainsaw certificate.
* Category D1/PCV driving license with minibus experience.
* Basic health and safety, first aid, fire procedures, and manual handling.
* Experience in ground works, building, or maintenance.
* Previous experience working with older people in a care environment.

£12.43 per hour plus bank holiday enhancements.
